Automotive Technology
This course will focus on the many aspects of the automotive service industry. We start the program learning and reviewing safety concerns, career opportunities, tool usage, theory and proper repair procedures. Students will gain knowledge required to diagnose and repair automobiles in selected ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) tested subjects. The subjects include engines, brakes systems, electrical systems, automotive HVAC, steering and suspension, and engine performance.Students have the ability to improve their employability and technical skills through competitions and leadership opportunities within our career and technical student organization known as SkillsUSA.
The automotive department prides ourselves in the development of industry partnerships. Partnerships that span throughout the area to allow students the ability to go work in the industry through our approval process. Today's cars and trucks are high-tech machines that demand high skilled technicians for service and repair. Automotive technicians or in high demand for our area and throughout the country. Auto Tech I I Auto Tech II I Practicum in Transportation & Career Prep
I have 13 years in the automotive field before moving into education as an Instructor. I attended Lincoln Technical Institute followed by BMW North America manufacturer training, and ongoing training with BMW University.
My hobbies include: Motorsports, vintage Honda motorcycles, hiking and camping with family, practicing and watching my kids play sports.
Auto Basics
Brian Rosario teaches Automotive Basics and Automotive Tech I. He moved to Keller in 2004 from Chicago and is a graduate of FRHS.
Mr. Rosario has had more than 15 years of automotive experience prior to instructing at KCAL. He has managed and assembled custom vehicles for high-end clientele and celebrities.
His passion for the automotive industry greatly reflects on his classes, giving our students current hands-on training that will elevate them into their future careers.
